On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the fundraiser for a new elevator received its final boost. Matěj Lejsal, who has been the director of Sue Ryder for 19 years, organised an unusual fundraising challenge, saying: "I’m going to do something in Stromovka that I would normally only do if it were a punishment!"

So that they are not left alone to worry about old age. To experience something extra - like dancing, even in a wheelchair, visits to therapy animals, trips to places they love. To have the care they need every day to live. And that the kind and dignified approach in elder care continues to spread, according to Sue Ryder. All of this is what you, our donors, contributed to in the Christmas collection.⭐

Sue Ryder's clients and the care team know that old age is as fragile as recently carefully stored Christmas decorations. Fortunately, you, the kind and generous donors, are here! With respect for the wisdom and experience that old age brings, you helped the most fragile seniors. And what is the balance of your good deeds?

Quality beds and good sleep are important for a contented and happy life regardless of the age. This was a consensus of the 194 individual donors, 4 donating companies and the campaign partner Volkswagen Financial Services. And you all contributed to this donation platform aimed at the beds renewal with the sum total of 619 453 Kč.

Flap you wings for the frailest of senior citizens! This was the invitation we publicly launched as early as November 19. We were delighted to find that not even the difficult times of 2020 dissuaded you from charity deeds!

We started to plan the Spring Olympiad in December 2019. At that time we had no idea that its planned schedule would perfectly copy the quarantine time and that we would ask you, our donors, for your contributions to cover the costs of face masks, disinfectants or of strengthening the helpline, which was during the corona-virus crisis much more used by senior citizens.

At Christmas 2019 we have published on this web site seven seemingly little somethings that may mean a lot for old people. The thing is that they were those gifts that have the biggest impact on the life quality of frail seniors, e.g. rehabilitation, psychological care or participation in creative workshops.
